Paul,
It's such a shame to see so many negative posts focusing on race based on your last blog. I'm a transplant to Cincy and think that this is this city's biggest downfall; the inability to get past race. All the unfortunate events that have befallen Junior have been out of his control but everyone is ready to slam him because of race, etc. Granted, I came to Cincy from the Great Northwest, so one would argue that I'm biased, but I think Cincinnatians expect alot from Junior because he is from here and what the Reds gave up to get him, in players and in dollars. He's just not like that though. Cut the guy some slack. All the pressure that Cincy has put on him would wear anyone down, let alone a quiet, reclusive guy like Junior. Perhaps he would be better off in Seattle, where the fans love him unconditionally.

Keep up the good work Doc.

Applause for the new policy. Hopefully other local blogs will join in this. Civility hurts no one.

Anon 2:14 PM,

The Enquirer doesn't want dates posted on the sports blogs. It would then make it obvious that comments are sometimes posted after a whole day passes, and sometimes two days. Don't think so? Just spend a week or so watching Bill Koch's UC sports sort of a blog and you'll see it for yourself. Good place for general UC info, yet a place of little to no interaction - Boring, Boring, Boring

Yes race, that four letter word. Amazing how it upsets soo many people!

In a time when gas prices are high, there is a rice shortage, people in a third world country can't even get help from their own Government, we sit here and debate the senseless, race issue.

Might as well debate, who was hotter, Wilma or Betty, Ginger or Mary Ann?

Paul, in the words of Willie, you are a fine american!

Civility is one thing. But, banning a topic? The policy speaks as loudly about us as the morons who incite such curious solutions.

How about leaving politics out of your columns as well?
