my new friend Adam
SARASOTA -- spring training is about new starts, so I figured it was time to patch things up w/Adam Dunn... occasionally, writers and players have problems with each other... usually they pass... ours lingered, which was dumb, because Dunn is among the most engaging and self-effacing Reds, not to mention one of the most important. So when I asked Dunn today if we could bury the hatchet, he didn't bury it in my head. We had a great talk, he seems a changed guy. More serious about the player he can be, more aware that his vast potential was going a little untapped. More mature, generally. Good for him. Good for the Reds. I'll write about him for Sunday's paper. Meantime, it feels good to patch things up.

Yeah, I bet he can't wait to take you fishing...
That's great - sounds like you have matured as well Doc.
Agreed about patching things up. I have a list of people I owe amends to, many refer to it as the white pages. In saying that, there is nothing so sweet as a bridge over troubled water.

we should still trade that lazy tub of lard.
That was a hilarious article! I can easily beleive that the Reds all thought you were a human orrifice. I've said the exact same thing for years now!
Glad to see you both have buried the hatchet. No one likes to be criticized...player or columnist
are you going to include in your column how you changed, too, to facilitate this "burying of the hatchets?" Because if not, you will come across as a condescending snoot.
How long, lord, do we have to endure "Doc" columns that are all about him.
Trouble is, folks, this guy is not very smart...and thinks he is, about EVERYTHING! Mediocre academic background, and never did anything but comment on other people's work.
He also clearly believes it is "all about him".
Remember his columns about life in the Sunday paper? Thanks to Maggy for cancelling those.
Oh my godness!!!! Adanm Dunn spoke to me!!!
Time to be a jock sniffer again.
The Doc is The Joke.
If you hate Doc so much, why are you reading his blog?
Sounds like someone secretly loves Doc or has no life....maybe both.
