Phil Mickelson
...just watched him hit a flop shot... from the 7th green...75 feet away, to 6 feet..made the par... then, hit a driver off the deck on the fairway at the par-5 8th... put it on the green...2-putt birdie from 50 feet... then bombed a tee ball at 9, position be damned... after he 3-putt from 15 feet at No. 6, I think Phil just said Ph--it, er, heck with it, and started having fun... he's still plus-6...cut projected at plus-7

Right after dinner I turned on the Masters and saw Mickelson taking a full swing on the green. I said out loud, "What is he doing"?
That was a great shot.
I know this is a golf blog, but I think I need to get the local folks attention! We have the best three (3) baseball radio announcers in the ENTIRE country (Canada included) in our home town. Not that no one noticed, but we should praise (maybe a strong word) and appreciate the men in the booth. Joe is a Cincinnati staple, Marty is way too good to simply think of as just another announcer, and thom is not far behind (what better tutors to have, I mean his dad and the old left hander? Instead of talking about UK and UC and coaching changes e should be at the alter of spring time Reds basesball. Face it! It's baseball season so forget about everything until late August (Reds please make it last longer than that, Iknow you guys can)! Anyway this is about the announcers in the booth, my homage in a blog.
Brett, Southgate, KY
To Brett: Don't forget Brantley... the guy blew me away in the spring with his candor and obvious knowledge of pitching. He needs some work with the play by play (don't end an inning giving the score but not who's ahead)but that will come with time...also, his voice is easy to listen to... and agreed, Reds radio is special
To me, watching Phil around the greens is like watching a great artist at work. It must be like what it was like to watch Michaelangelo sculpt a great statue. I know that sounds a bit much, but there is great artistry in a great short game, and Phil has it.
